Sticking button on Garmin 405

Sorry about starting another thread on this but had problems posting on the garmin mega thread. Dropped my 405 a while ago and the button keeps sticking rendering it pretty useless. I can pull it out but if as soon as you depress it it stays in. Went to Dawson Jewellers who were helpful but told me its a sealed unit and almost impossible to get at and they had had a few people in with similar issues. He thought it was a bent pin
Any else have a similar issue or fix or at least spoken to Garmin about it.

If it's under warranty, get Garmin to fix it. If it's not under warranty, get Garmin to replace it with a refurbished unit (at a cost`to yourself).

Thanks Krusty. Out of warranty unfortunately. Trying to decide on the economics of sending it back to Garmin and the cost. Any experience with them about replacing with a refurbished unit - would they charge for the unit or postage or both. Any insight appreciated before i contact them

Answering my own question here just in case its of help to others. Spoke to Garmin. They have a set charge of 78.30 sterling (about 98 euro). You pay in advance, get a reference number and then post it off to them.

Yes, exactly. It's not just about postage unfortunately. I'm not entirely sure that it's economical. At times, you can buy a Forerunner 305 for a similar amount of money.

Just in case anyone else tracks this message. I finally sent off the watch - 3.50 euro postage - and new or rather factory reconditioned watch arrived back safe and sound. Was charged around 100 euro a few days later. Feels pretty much like a new watch although now having problems logging back into my Garmin profile and recognizing the watch - does not help that I moved jobs and don't have access to the email account.
