my wife was means tested after her stamps ran out and as i am working her dole was cut to 60 euro a week

while on a jobs club course in december a fella from job bridge came in and explained about what job bridge is and she was told that if she got a jobs bridge job her social payment would return to 188 + 50

she applied for and got a job in the scheme and started 1 week ago but was informed today she will only recieve her 60 + 50 a week for doing the job does anyone know if this is correct?

if it is it will not make sense for her to do the job as it will cost us 100 to get our boys minded for 2 days so we will actually be down money which we will not be able to afford

On Jobbridge, you get the same amount as you were receiving from SW before the internship started, plus the €50 extra per week.

You will receive an allowance equivalent to your current Social Welfare allowance plus an additional €50 per week for the duration of the internship (internship allowance).

But would this affect a Rent Allowance household too?

Will participants keep their secondary benefits (e.g. medical card, rent supplement, mortgage interest supplement, fuel allowance, etc) while participating in JobBridge?
Yes, participants will keep any additional benefits that they were receiving immediately prior to taking up an internship
