Iv heard there's a new tattoo/piercing place at the top of the town, where the Beauty Boutique used to be before it moved. Is this true? Anyone been? Are they any good, has anyone heard?

If they're good this is bad news for my wallet....:D:D:D

I've not heard much about them, but there a decent place in Leixlip ( Leixlip Art Tattoo ) and their pricing on piercings and tattoos is reasonable enough, and the staff are really sound. :D

Don't know what Leixlip Art Tattoo are like for tattoos, but I wouldn't recommend them for piercing, since when my friends and I availed of a 10 euro piercing offer, they pierced my friends belly button without gloves, and then strenuously denied it when we called them out on it (in private message), and blocked us from their fb page afterwards.
I am interested in what this new place would be like though :)

Well I and several people I know have been in Leixlip Art Tattoo for piercing, there were gloves and general sanitation methods used at all times, including piercing, later inspection of piercing and for bar changings. Also, ID was first on the agenda before they pierced anyone.
I've never really dealt with the FB page, so I can't say anything on that a/c tbh :)

There's a tattoo/piercing place beside where the Beauty Boutique is now, not on the Main St but around the corner on the Dunboyne Road. It's open a few months afaik

Well glad you had a better experience :) I have to say they were good about the ID thing, just wasn't impressed with the way they dealt with our complaint, we weren't going to sue or anything, it wasn't a massive deal to us because like I said to my friend she should have said it at the time (but she was a piercing newbie) I just felt they were quite abrupt and rude about it.

The place where the Beauty Boutique used to be is a yoga and prenatal place as far as I know!

I've been pierced and tattooed in leixlip art tattoo and I have to say they were professional at all times and the hygiene in the shop was really good. I've never seen the piercer attempt anything without having gloves on! The gloves are to protect not only the person getting pierced but the piercer as well. I would have no problem in recommending this shop. I am quite heavily tattooed and have been in plenty of tattoo shops and leixlip art tattoo measures up in the hygiene department as far as I'm concerned and not to mention the artist is really good and the piercer is top class.

I've tried to contact them ( Maynooth shop) about pricing before and they said something along the lines of best to come into the shop as they don't post a pricelist online. :)

Ah ok! I don't know anything about the shop in maynooth tbh. I've gotten a few piercings in leixlip and found the piercer to be sound! Would definitely recommend leixlip but, if gettin there is a problem its obviously not suitable for you! :)

I grabbed their email and phone number as I went past, but after seeing their crimes against English,

    Exhibit A
Loads of flash art in shop so come in, might be something u like

I wouldn't divulge that information to anyone now.

What do you expect, it's a tattoo parlour.
Ye'd hardly expect them to have PhDs and be discussing the merits of string
    theory vs quantum loop gravity...

Yeah, but you'd kind of expect someone who inks things on people's skin for a living would have a basic grasp of spelling. Of all the professions where you wouldn't appreciate a misspelling, surely a tattoo artist is one of the most important?

Tattoos take a lot of time, effort and money to change, would you run that risk?

Didn't actually look at the images. Just went on what Alt_Grr! said.
I have no desire to burn my retinas and whatnot.

No! Never!! People tattoos must have tiny thighs, curvy waists and MASSIVE boobs.
That's how people work, you know.

I personally wouldn't be surprised if the person doing tattoos had a doctorate. I knew a guy with a Physics Masters who decided it was more lucrative to become a plumber. And two of the software engineers I worked with had degrees in History. I've heard stories about ex-accountants and ex-lawyers working in McDonalds. I think it's long past the time where you could judge a person by their job. I wouldn't be surprised to find my bin man reading Joyce or Kierkegaard or a book on astrophysics.

the doctorate is no use if you dont have a steady hand though

    Hey

Does anyone know if this place is still around and if it will be in Sept? Have planned my tattoo for a while and want to get it done now. I'm just trying to work out where the best place for that would be!

Head into Dublin. I think it's gone anyway, but you are better off going with a more reputable place. I've a few contacts if you want

Yea I think I was leaning that way anyway. There or Wickla!

I might call on you for those. I may wait til after I finish work or Sept though!

The place in Maynooth closed a while ago afaik, and I've to say it's a pity because their piercer was a sound lad!

I can't recommend Skin City on South William St. near Powerscourt Shapping Centre?) in town enough. Nice place, nice guys and imo reasonably priced. Got my first tattoo there a few months back and would definitely go there again.
    :D

I'm in the process of getting my artwork done and I'm going to Spilled ink. They've done a couple of my sisters pieces and their work is excellent. Very excited!!!!
