Possible to feed signal from main sky box to seperate box?

I currently have a video sender/receiver to watch sky in the bedroom but to say that it's crap would be an understatement. Signal is rubbish at the best of times and it won't allow me to use the remote to switch channels.

I have an old sky box gather dust in the attic and I'm sure I could run a separate cable from the dish to the bedroom to receive the freeview but I don't have the ladders. I'm wondering is it possible to run a cable from the main sky box downstairs to the separate box upstairs and receive the signal? I was thinking about getting one of the magic eyes as I assume the signal would be better running through the cable but if I can use the old sky box to watch tv independently upstairs without the need to climb up on the roof it would be a bonus.

    Two options.

1.You run a cable direct from your dish (assuming you have an extra outlet on your lnb) to your spare skybox and watch the free channels.

2.You run a cable from your existing sky box direct to your second tv, fit a magic eye and watch the same channel as on the main tv.

You can use the old skybox for fta minus the card but you'll need to connect it to the dish.If you have Sky+ as your main box then you already have a quad lnb.Get some coax,2 f-connectors and borrow a ladder. It's not as hard as it sounds to do.

Some good tutorial videos on youtube.

Thanks Zimmerframe. Had a feeling they'd be my options but if you don't ask you don't know.

Hope you don't mind me butting in OP .. What is the name of the cable you require, Where can you buy it .. I would need a good length as TV at other end of bungalow from the dish.

Thanks. I've no problem running the cable if I can get my hands on the ladders. I've done that before. I just thought someone in here might know a sneaky, easy, way to split the feed between the main box and another box.

Coaxial cable is what you need and you should be able to get it in any good hardware or electrical shop. Or you can buy it online somewhere like this http://www.tvtrade.ie/sky-magic-eye-installation-kit.html.
