My daughter is due to start her first student nursing assignment at Louglinstown hospital shortly and will need to be there early in the morning. We live close to the green line and am wondering is there any handy way to get from Brides Glen stop to the hospital on foot?? We went out that way last week in the car and couldn't even find where the stop is by road. Any help appreciated.

Not sure bout the luas but if you're near the N11 the 145 will drop & collect her outside the hospital

The luas is quite a walk from the hospital, there is no rear access.

You would need to walk down towards and along the N11 from either the Cherrywood or Bride's Glen stops.

It would be a good 15/20 minute walk. As the previous poster mentioned the bus stop is a 2 minute walk and serves the 145, 45 and 84/X. Depends where she would be coming from I suppose.

    Hi,

I work in the Cherrywood Business Park (where Bride's Glen stop is located) and also walk past the hospital every day (lunchtime "keep fit" walk).

The walk from LUAS to hospital takes 15-20 minutes, depending on your walking speed/fitness. This includes cutting through a small park - OK in the morning, but unlit and a bit lonely in the evening.

I can provide step-by-step instructions / map if you need.

Hi Conway 635 that sounds great, I will pm you. Unfortunately we don't live near any of those bus routes so it's either the luas or lifts but thanks for the suggestions.

Leave the luas and head for the little supermarket, find subway food outlet, then around the little pond you will see railings and a footpath. Walk down the steep grassy area and this brings you out at the side road of the silver tassie pub. Turn left, head towards the N11, turn right at the pub, pass jim rock motors and its 2 mins on your right.

As it happens I tested out the walk the other day (well, to the BÉ/145 stop as opposed to the hospital) and you'd want to give yourself 15-20mins. I think as the crow flies it looks close but you have to account for walking along curving paths, over bridges, etc.

Thanks to all of you for your help, especially Conway635 who went to so much trouble using an app to create a google map of the walk. Don't you just love boardies!
