Forced into Pass Maths

    Can a teacher force you to drop to pass maths.I want to keep Higher but he keeps threatening to put me into pass.Can he actually do that?

    I think he can drop to the Pass Maths classroom but he cannot prevent you from taking the Higher Paper..

    For Junior Cert., the school gives the SEC exact numbers for each level - usually around the end of Feb..

    If you decide to change level on the day, it may result in you (and someone else) waiting to start the exam as you wait for a paper to be photocopied.

    In years past, the SEC used to send out a few extras of each level for JC, but not now. They still do for LC.

    If you are not keeping up with the rest of the class in OL, perhaps your teacher is right. There is a rather large jump JC to LC HL Maths, perhaps your teacher sees you are stuggling?

    I had a bad start to the year didnt do any homework failed tests but iv started working at it and started grinds I believe I am capable o doing it.Th guy hates me with a passion.

    Well then stick at it and give him no excuse to drop you.
    Try to do particularly well in the mocks. As long as you're scoring 60% or higher, I can't see any reason he could have to drop you.

    I hate to see students get A grades in Ordinary Level papers, it generally means they should have been doing Higher.
