    Thanks for that, Sparks.

However, I bet you an even 50eu crispy that the total amount of TV coverage of the combined shooting competitions will be less than that of the Mongolian synchronised tightrope basket weaving team event.

Happily, I'll be at home in sunny Ontario and Oregon when this is on, cheering the home team at a distance.

It's worse than that, the tv rights are exclusive rights so you can't even watch it on ISSF TV :(

I think there will be much more coverage this time round since Britain are hosting, the BBC are committed to showing an unprecedented amount of coverage across the board with multiple channels on the red button as well as the likes of BBC three. I remember reading that they intend to cover practically everything possible.

I'll be charitable here, and assume that you are on life-improving medications that give everything a rosey glow. :)

'practically everything possible' is more that likely designed to cover such thrilling stuff as 'how we built 2500 modern slums on the site of 2500 old slums' rather than shooting of any kind.

    Betcha.

As ever, I'm happy to be proven wrong, of course.

No I'm referring to sports coverage, they are going the whole hog this time with live streams all over the place on the BBC website too.

I dunno; if there's any Brits with the chance of a medal...

Otherwise, agreed - no chance of any coverage

Also, IIRC, the BBC coverage of the 'less popular' events on their website at the CWG consisted of a list of programmes that 'might' be broadcast on the red button/BBC website in a given time period; then you had to sit up all night just in case they decided to show the shooting event.

I seem to recall sitting up one night until 4am to see NO SHOOTING!!

Well, if there is little or no bang-type shooting, I'll watch the twang-type shooting instead.

I'm betting that the British shotgunners will be there - and winning stuff, too.

    Maybe.

Like I said, the BBC are covering all the sports in full this time, can't make it any clearer. If you don't believe me read this:

Huckle's 598 suggests he might at least have a chance :D
