I remember reading a post from a deaf girl wondering if it was possible for her to learn how to wrestle so I was just wondering if anyone knows of wrestlers with disabilities? I know there's obviously Zach Gowen and a friend of mine in training has Asperger's but does anyone know of any others?

Wasnt there a deaf UFC fighter.....

Only problem I would see is that during the matches the wrestler calls the next move i.e irish whip and then boot etc

Can't think of any that wrestle with a disability, but can think of a fair few that used to wrestle and are now disabled....

    Surprsied the lack of answers:

    Zach Gowan (one leg)

Alan Kirby an old British wrestler (deaf)

    Gregory Iron (cerebral palsy)

Kerry Von Erich (foot amputated at the knee which he hid from fans and peers)

There was a UFC fighter with only one Pectoral Muscle! Can't remember his name. I think Kerry Von Erich is probably the most famous. I know Mad Dog Vachon had only the one leg (as Kevin Nash revealed when he pulled off the falsie to beat HBK with [think it was hbk] ), but I'm sure he had his leg off after retiring from the ring.

Stone Cold said in his autobiography that he was deaf in one ear, and as a result, he called the moves in all his matches.

Kurt Angle's deaf in one ear too,in his book that I read years ago he said one of his ears kept filling up with wax as a teenager due to all his wrestling training, and he got fed up having to get it syringed regularly so he just left it.

He said it got him into trouble with Vince once when he was doing guest commentary on a match and he couldn't hear what Vince was telling him to say through the headset because of his ear,so he just made stuff up on the fly, when he got backstage Vince was pissed because he thought Kurt had been ignoring him.

Going back to Kurt Angle, I think it was him who said once that the tips of all his fingers are numb.

Also Hulk Hogan said in an interview with The Sun's Rob McNicol last month that he's partially blind in one eye.

Is Bryan Danielson/Daniel Bryan partially blind in one eye as well, or was that just part of a script for one of his promos?

Technically not a disability, but doesn't Chyna have Varclit?

From a Deaf perspective. I did Judo in school and for awhile it sucked because of miscommunication with the instructor, after awhile I made it clear to him what the problem was and I was looked after from then on.

It is possible for anyone to do anything they want. I think at the end of the day it is up to the person to make the most of their abilities within their disability and the people surrounding them. And, lots of encouragement is needed for them.
