Hi, I have a sick cert for two weeks. I went for an operation on Wednesday 8th Feb and I am going back to work on Wednesday 22nd February. I submitted a MC-1 form on 14th Feb. I understand that I have to fill in an MC-2 final assessment on the day that I return to work. At what point do I sent in my INTERIM MC-2 form ? Is it on 21st Feb ?

If you submitted an MC1 that signed you off as unwell for 2 weeks, I presume you'd submit another one at the end of those 2 weeks? To say that you're still unwell, won't be at work and still need IB.

Thanks Novella. Do you think so that I need to fill out a FINAL MC-2 on my day back to work and forget about the INTERIM one ?

Sorry, I think I took your post up wrong! If you're only taking 2 weeks off and you submitted an MC1 for 2 weeks, that should be fine. It'll be okay to submit an MC2 when you're returning to work. I think you'd only send in another MC1 if you were taking more time off work.

Thanks for that Novella. Thankfully my employer pays for up to six months certified sick leave. However they insist on the employee claiming for illness benefit and giving it to them. I'm sure the government will get rid of that one eventually
