The Arab Spring - Another Chinese Plot?

We all saw in 2003 how the Chinese planted fake evidence to get the west involved in Iraq. Is the Arab Spring another step in their quest to damage the west? Pro-western governments have been toppled and will be replaced by anti-western fanatics, more ameanable to Chinese interests. The unintentional spread to Syria was mitigated by the UN veto, and as with Iraqi distraction, helps take the spotlight off the main prize, Iran. We will now see Chinese firms moving into Libya to snap up the oil as they did in Iraq, after the west has done the heavy lifting for them.

I love how these new posters appear.. create a post or two .. then disappear.

On topic, never heard this one before, there was no 'evidence' in Iraq so the Chinese couldn't have planted anything. The Arab spring has been an uprising pretty much run on its own steam across a whole range of countries.

I would agree, with the exceptions of Libya and Syria, where I believe they were steered in certain directions soon after beginning and had/have a large degree of outside influence from several sides.

This is the frst time I've ever heard anyone blame the chinese for the war in Iraq.

Have external countries since affected the uprisings in both countries? obviously yes.

    Did they spark them? no

Uprisings and protests took places in some 17 countries across ME and N Africa - no evidence that the causes were other than domestic.

Hey, they're an up and coming global power - they'd better get used to this sort of thing.

    That's basically what I said.
