The Miz has as much heat as anyone in WWE, but it has little to do with him not catching R-Truth during the Six-Pack Challenge on last week’s RAW SuperShow. Rather, the animosity is being attributed to his obnoxious behavior as many of his co-workers are turned off by it.

“The feeling is he’s like a little frat boy who is loud and has to be the center of attention,” a source says. You can pretty much see that as well during any media interview he does.

As reported last week, it is widely believed within WWE that his work has regressed, both in the squared circle and verbally. When he was low on the totem pole, he appeared motivated and forced management to make him a headliner. He is now back to mid-card status and isn’t giving WWE much reason to elevate him again.

He's in as good a position as he should ever have hoped for right now. Solid mid carder who can slot in as filler in the main event if needed. He was never a main eventer, very similar to Jericho but minus the early greatness.

Quite surprised to read that, I thought he was well liked by management due to using him a lot for media work. Most recently i've seen him doing media appearances in England and Dubai.

A lot of people go through this period of their career sometimes several times - Jericho, Punk etc. These are largely tests before they get behind someone.

The Miz is a former WWE Champion, headlined Wrestlmania(despite the awful main event), has worked with The Rock, John Cena and CM Punk and has been featured very promently over the last two years. Is it any wonder why the guy seems to have gotten lazy now and no longer motivated to work harder. He's a more successful Carlito basically.

If he was to be placed back in the mid-cards again, I don't think it would bother him as much so long as he's still on tv. My only concern, that he's going to continue having that attitude and might get worse over time. Maybe if the story is true, someone should put him in his place. It's times like these that Undertaker is needed since he was the lockerroom leader. He could speak to the Miz about it, but he's semi-retired now so someone else needs to step up.

According to sources, Alberto Del Rio is disliked by some of his WWE colleagues due to how he carries himself and the belief that his position in the company is unwarranted.

The two-time WWE Champion is seen as off-putting behind the scenes as he portrays himself as a master backstage politician and struts around as a superstar. There is also a perception that he is not over to the level of his sizable push as his matches and promos garner tepid reactions from the audience. Company officials, however, are receptive to the Mexican grappler as they feel he has superstar potential because he’s bilingual, tall and has a “great movie star look.” His push is also fueled by the company’s need for Hispanic stars given the lack of clarity regarding the long-term futures of Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara.

Meanwhile, Del Rio admitted during an interview last week with Bay area sports radio station 95.7 FM The Game that he doesn’t like many of his WWE peers. When asked who he liked the least, the second-generation wrestler said that he hates The Miz.

“This is not part of the show. I really dislike that guy. I’ve tried to punch him in the face several times, not in the ring I mean outside the ring, but he’s just like a little girl, he’s always running away from me,” Del Rio said.

“There’s a big difference between The Miz and I, I’m a real athlete, he’s just a loud stupid little kid. He’s probably one of those guys that was bullied when he was in school, that’s the reason he’s now oh so loud and he wants to get attention from everybody, but in my case he’s the real deal.”

Del Rio capped off his Miz rant by saying that he doesn’t have many female fans because “he’s fat and ugly.”

They tried to get Miz over as a ruthless heel, as a tough guy. This was never going to be a runner.

Thinking of some ruthless heels and tough guys. I'll just take the first 5 that come to mind. Austin. Benoit. Undertaker. Cactus Jack. Triple H, aaaaaaaaand Miz.

Forgetting all the other factors that make the others immeasurably better than Miz, take away work rate, promos, psychology all of that. Without seeing any of these work, or talk, you looked at them, and you knew, they could kick seven shades of ****e out of you. Then look at Miz.

I cant remember if it was on the Observer Podcast or Review a Wai, but SOMEONE made a very good analogy of the Miz.

They basically said, if you were in a room with three guys. And you had to fight one of them to get out/get a prize of some description.. I think they used Del Rio, Brodus and Miz. But you can really apply it to any one on the roster, and miz. You could take Swagger, Kofi and Miz.

Given a choice you'll fight Miz everytime. He doesn't look the part. He doesnt look tough. And that is so vital for someone of his mould to get over as a heel ESPECIALLY when he can't really work all that well. The likes of Michaels/Jericho dont have to look particularly tough because they were/are phenomenal in the ring.

They can have Miz beating on all the John Morrisons in the world, but at the end of the day, it doesnt matter, because as soon as he picks up that mic, and the camera zooms in on his piggy nose and pretty boy faux hawk, as soon as he starts to speak in that petulant whine, not one person believes that he is a tough guy. Then to make matters worse, he peppers his heel promos with singalong catchphrases.

I think it will be very hard for Miz to ever truly get over at a main event level. I firmly believe that to really embrace someone as a superstar, you have to believe they are above you, that they could kick your ass, that they can do incredible things that you cant. Thats whats compelling about wrestlers/rockstars etc. There needs to be an aura.

Miz doesn't have that, and I can't imagine him stumbling upon one languishing uninterested in the mid card.

I think Jericho's return has hurt Miz, perhaps it's time for a face turn or a move to SD

The part I bolded makes me wonder if all Mexican wrestlers who don't come from FCW are like that? I mean I read reports that Sin Cara was the same way. How he used to talk very highly of himself and that. Now Del Rio seems to be the same way. I wonder if Mexican wrestlers are very proud people.

I used to like miz, back when he had riley helping him out. But when the spotlight was all his own again I soon realised he was ****! Riley's was just so bad miz looked good. He doesn't put a believable beat down on anyone either which hurts his matches. Send him to japan to harden up a bit.

Jericho had a run in or two with some of them in his books. Cant think of the name. I imagine they are used to being at a higher level, so to speak in, their own country.

I don't see the problem with this personally, makes a change from the easily controllable FCW guys who have been with the one company all the way up. A bit of variety can't hurt.

I think he's always been crap. Should never have been elevated to the heights he reached in my view. I respect him on one level for accomplishing it but I am amazed the company got behind him the way they did.

Call me old fashioned but in a world champ I want a guy that can carry off a feling of menace without looking comical. Looking at Miz stare at people with his goofy serious face and talking about how he was the 'Dub-You Dub-You EEE champion' never resonated with me on anything but a roll-eyes level.

He's been in two main events with The Rock. Haha, thats so ridiculous looking back at it. How people in that company thought he could hold his own at last years Mania like, baffling.

He has far exceeded the expectations that everyone set him back when he was hosting the diva search. He seems at home in an upper mid card spot, it was a tough task to buy into him as a main eventer, as others in this thread have put it, he doesn't look the part, nor is he a particularly brilliant in ring worker.

He has got charisma and he does do a lot of media work for the WWE but I can't see him ever establishing himself as a Triple H/Edge level heel.

i just cant stand the miz and not in the i hate him cause his heel but in the sense i want to punch him repeatable in the face it would put a smile on my face for any person to do it

Miz is going to be fine. Being in the dog house is no big deal. Triple H was in the dog house, Randy Orton was in the dog house, Chris Jericho was in the dog house and many others have gotten the cold shoulder at some stage in their careers. Having to pay his dues for a bit longer will benefit him in the long run attitude wise and wrestling wise. I wouldn't put too much stock in what Del Rio says though, this is the guy who's god damm ring announcer gets a bigger reaction then him.

I talked about it in my 411ma is column today, but I'll paraphrase it for the thread. I think the problem is The Miz became very lazy after headlining 'Mania. It's as if he thought "I can slow down now, I got to do the big one" and it's come back to bite him in the ass. Jericho coming back hasn't helped either since it does really showcase how much The Miz took from Jerichos character.

He gets paid hundreds of thousands of dollars a year and goes home and shags Maryse. Could be worse for poor Miz.
