Woah, lot more people than I thought getting both bonus and payrise.

70% bonus and 30% payrise for me. Booyah!

I've never worked anywhere where bonuses are the norm so I've never received one. It's also been the best part of 5 years since I got a pay rise.

I got an "increment" (private sector) but I'm still on less than I was before my paycut the previous year. And I got a christmas bonus, which was very very small but a bonus nonetheless and then we get a voucher (tax free) at christmas.

Lots of sectors are still doing really well, I'm not surprised that some are able to give pay rises. And it's great to see.

No bonus's ever, and my increments are finished. I had two increments in the last few years, the public service pay cut and pension levy mean my take home pay is less than it was in 2007 so it's probably the same as never getting a pay rise

Glad to see that lots of people are ticking the bonus and payrise answer. Things are looking up!! (and where do you people work! I want in :-) )

Got bonus and small payrise this year but doesn't even come near the paycut in 2008, this year was the first payrise since 2007

Picked up a professional contract again ... over double the money I was getting in temping work before that.

So neither - but it feels like both!

OMG!! Where do you work? And are they hiring?

I got a 3% bonus and less than 1% payrise.

Actually I just got a 5% pay raise this month and a bonus every month since I joined the company (performance based, dunno if they count?)

I'm surprised by the figures so far. Accepted that some pay increases may not bring people onto the same level they were before pay cuts but it does show movement in a positive direction.

God the usual bonus of half a month's salary or something like that but no pay rises yet again this year.

I would class a bonus as anything outside your normal wage/salary agreement. Like a once off payment.

Most companies tie in performance metrics either individual/department/company wide. But it's a payment that the employer isn't legally obliged to give you...

I once had a boss that told me to stop buying lunches and that would be better than a pay rise

No longer work for him, But he was a nice guy all the same

    And now
No bonus the last 3 years, Small rises but have to really beg and not got 1 in the last year and dont see another one coming ever,
Company dong great though and playing the recession card

I do count it as a bonus. Infact it's better than a bonus as it's more and it's tax free.

Got two pay cuts in the last 9 months , had already cut back my working hours just before the first cut which i wouldn't have done if i had known this was going to happen .
Job hunting for the last three months without success so far....

Tbh, it's not. My company is giving out a lot of vouchers as rewards (a raffle to win an 100€ one if you reach a certain goal) and they recently were ninsected by revenue.

Your first "gift" from the company is free (up to 250€), everything else is taxable and the company. So if you get more than one or more than 250€ it is liable to tax.

    Paycut for me.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

And I don't get more than 250, therefore it's tax free!

last pay increase was 1% in 2009, never a bonus with the company.

Our clients are a little better, one gives us 25 euro voucher towards drink at Christmas time! :o

Not so much. Not all IT companies pay so well. Personal experience.

No payrise in about 3 years (last one was a 3% "cost of living" increase in 2007 followed swiftly by a temporary 10% cut for all of 2008). Did get an exceptional bonus at the end of 2010, bumper year for the company so got the equivalent of an extra months pay (pre-tax). No bonus last year though, this year is also looking doubtful.
