SCII Season 6

All too soon Season 5 is over and we are already into Season 6. We have 2 new maps and an upcoming patch. And the boards.ie gang will have a LAN this Sat to start the season with a bang.

Thoughts on any of this?

Or even aims and hopes?

I'll go first.....

at long last I have clawed my way out of the pit. I am now a Silver leaguer!
(Granted this is a slightly higher pit than Bronze,but then all achievement is relative)

Had been doing very well over the last 2-3 weeks (50% using a 3 rax stim based push,thank you Khazidea) .........won my placement against a frankly woeful cannon rush and then started properly with a win v banshee rush that I was happy with as I did not panic (too much)

Cannon rush was on Shakuras and I attached the Banshee win for critique:

Gave up on protoss 2 weeks ago after losing 6 pvps in a row. Decided to play my placement match anyway today. Got cannon rushed, beat it. Then I get promoted to masters. No idea what to do now, still disgusted by pvz and pvp.

Got a bit of coaching, practicing all week for the S6 placement match then BAM.
ZvT on the new map, vs some idiot that went tank marine off of 2 base.
Held off with infestors but lost my fourth and the drones and some tech in my main to drops. he took his third and fourth, muled the **** out of both and followed up with medvac 3-3 mass marine which apparently counters
3-3 crackling bling infestor...

Only started playing a week before the lock but managed to win my placement match. Still got put in bronze. My first opponent? A guy with 3500 career wins and spent last season in the masters league. Seems fair.

Also, did someone in GSL do some roach/ling pressure build(s)? All I'm seeing on ladder vs Zerg lately seems to be early roach into ling (busts) off of 2 base and then droning up after forcing the bunkers and then another attack.

It's really easy to beat and I'm just wondering is this the new meta game on EU or is this just a test phase/mimic of some pro in GSL's play?

Bought the game last month towards the end of Season 5, goals for this season is promotion to Silver. Since I lost my placement match I've played 30 matches. winning 18 losing 12 so I'm on the right track.

So I've switched Protoss for Season 6, got bored of Terran even though they are better suits to me low apm noobiness. It is somewhat of an exercise in spending a certain amount of time playing each race so that I can learn all their buildings, tech paths etc so I can recognise them better when playing against them.

haha, you might be right. But for me, whos just 3 rax stim raped bronzers for all of season 5, this is a step up in terms of apm. All I had to do there was hotkey my rax, and keep producing while my rines did the damage. I realise T takes a lot of apm at a high level, but at bronze level it doesn't.

Then again, maybe its cos I'm starting with P that it seems more difficult. The battles seem to necessitate a lot more apm for micro in battles for shields, guardian shield, blink etc.

The hardest thing for me to get used to is not being able to hit commands while my whole army of multiple types of units is selected like I did with stim. Its difficult to get used to tabbing to the relevant unit when I can barely even see the highlighted unit by using this method.

Can anyone recommend some beginner protoss builds?

I've just been trying a proxy 2 gate vs hard ai opponents, but I want to have more than a single all in build before trying on ladder.
