I put up a forum asking for advice on a new car.
Nearly purchased one but for different reasons never got to.
I have €4500 max to spend.

My driving isnt what I would consider city driving, I drive around Dublin 15 area and M50 mostly.

Was considering a BMW 320D, would that cause problems for my sort of driving?
Im 21 so looking for something that wont eat the juice and also something quick.

    Any help would be great.
Would a accord or Octavia be a better choice.
    Really like these 3 cars.

    Thanks for that.

Forgot to ask would a BMW petrol be as efficient on petrol as the diesel equivalent.

This forum is strange at times, the OP asks about a 320d and gets recommended a M3.

OP, I don't know if you will save anything by buying a diesel if driving around the M50 car park and Dublin suberbs. You could look at a 318ci coupe like this, they are not that hard on fuel, less complex than the diesels so less to break and cheaper to buy these days.

    Something like this:

I assume you've got insurance quotes for all three cars?

I'm 22, a quote on my 525i was 1.5k yoyos... Nearly 4 years ncb to my name too  my van is less than half of that quote!! Must try a quote for the Alfa someday for the crack :D

    Ironically I was hankering after a 00 320d when I was 19, insurance wasn't that much more...

OP what road tax would you be willing to pay?

I wish I had 4 grand at my disposal!!!

I dont really want to go over a 2L.

Just dont want to keep having to head to the petrol station every couple of days.
On the other hand I want to enjoy driving the car.
