    Hi,

I will be purchasing a number of appliances shortly TV's, dishwasher, cooker, hob, hood, fridge freezer etc. Can anyone recommend a supplier that would offer discount based on a multiple purchase?

    Thanks

Expert Electrical franchises are usually good for a decent multi-item discount, IMHO

I agree with Irish_Elect_Eng. Don't know where you are based but I was doing the same about 1.5 years ago and cunniffes in Galway were the best

Harvey Normans,DID and Power City have warehouse clearance sales every 4-5 months or so.

I bought some of my kitchen appliences this way (DID warehouse sale),and I saved 450 euro on buying a TV,a 5 ring gas hob and an integrated fridge freezer. All brand new, full warrenty and all working perfectly too.

The best thing to do is price around all your local electrical retailers. Have a sort of list of goods you need and visit the retailers. Ensure to tell them that you are pricing around! Best quote wins...

Power City are probably going to be cheapest, mainly because they purchase so damned much and their locations are so low cost.

But please don't just think about price. Service and knowledge are important too. You won't save that much overall and the right advice can save you money. Pushing your local supplier on price may be possible, but it isn't necessarily the right thing to do. There just isn't that much markup in a lot of this stuff.

Power City are not renowned for their service. That said, Power City can be ok for advice/service if you get them in the right mood. I once ordered a washer-drier online at 7pm and had it delivered and installed the next day by 10.45am. How good is that? They will also email invoices to you which can be handy for record purposes.
