Parking fine appealed but heard nothing

About three weeks ago I got a parking fine from the local council.

The "alleged offence" box was blank, as was the notice number. Probably the ink was almost dry in the warden's printer and some fields didn't print.

I appealed the fine by email the next day.

Haven't heard anything since though. The 28 days to pay the fine by are nearly up.

What happens if I've heard nothing about my appeal submission after the 28 days are up and I may by that time have a court summons?

Did they acknowledge the appeal by email? If not, ring them tomorrow to cofirm they've recieved your appeal.

If they have recieved it I'd still ring them to check on the status.

By not giving you the notice number they've made it impossible for you to pay it even if you wanted to.
Not to mention the lack of offence so you technically don't know what you did wrong.

Highly unlikely this will go to court whatever happens, but hang onto the ticket to show the judge in case it does..

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

I appealed a DLRCOCO parking fine a while back - it took months for them to issue a ruling, and I always had to contact them.

Thanks lads. I just sent them an email chasing it.

I would call them. Email is too easy to ignore and it could be at the end of a very long list to be processed.

But isn't that their problem and not mine? If this goes to court, it's much easier to prove an email than a phone call.

Personally I'd call. Yes, technically it's their problem, but if you end up in court it'll be your problem too! (Time off and costs etc...) If they haven't replied yet, best to try and nip it in the bud now with a call.

Get the name of the person you're talking to, and you'll have your phone records as proof if it comes to that, which it shouldn't.
