Need to buy something from a company in Holland, who not take paypal. Short of sending a cheque by post, the easiest way is to transfer funds.

Now i can get all their bank details but can i use these to send funds from my online banking or do i have to go into a bank branch to do this. I had assumed it was the same as a domestic transfer, but tbh the whole IBAN thing has be confused.

Can i do this online myself, or do i have to go to a branch (im BOI btw)

AFAIK you can do this online if you have a card reader. (dont know if other banks have them but i do this with aib using their wee electronic card reader)

You need their IBAN and SWIFT code (may also be listed as BIC); with those two pieces of data you'll be able to make a transfer in any online bank of choice to them. Only difference compared to a domestic transfer (and these days even those are going away quickly) is that the account and bank details are slightly longer :).
