Summoned to court after not receiving a fine!

Last November I got pulled over on the Galway-Limerick motorway around the Ennis bypass doing about 130km/h. Garda took my details and said I'd be getting a fine in the post.

A few months later and the fine never arrived so I figured he let me off. Yesterday I get a court summons through the door giving me a date in April. I don't think I have any way to prove that I didn't get the fine....but on the letter and envelope that the guard sent out he spelt my address two different ways so he could have gotten it wrong sending out the fine.

Anyone any experience with anything like this?

    Thanks,
    flayes

Ring the station and have a chat with the Guard. Failing that, you'll have to appear in court.

The Garda who summoned you will have his/her name noted on the summons. Contact that Garda and explain the situation, offering to pay the fine immediately and he/she may agree to remove the case from the list for mention.
