    Hey all

Does anybody know where in Kilkenny city can poppy seed bagels be bought. Supervalu used to see a 6 pack but they only sell plain and raisin and cinnamon ones now. Anybody know of anywhere I could buy a six pack to throw in the freezer.

    Thanks

Isn't there a specialist bagel shop across from the entrance to Superquinn?? Can't recall off hand if he is still open.

Broadway Bagels can be bought already frozen (and sliced) in packs of 4. Waterford company I think?
Sometimes available in SQ, SV and Euro Spar. Think I saw them in Eurospar this morning and it looked like an "x% extra free" pack, probably 50% so 6 bagels but only glanced at them in the cabinet as I was walking past so not sure exactly.
By the way, they are VERY good... love them with bacon, tomato, sometimes edam, maybe relish.... drool.

Can also get them in (delivered from) Tesco.

If you go for a drugs(weed) test it will come up positive if you eat these even if you smoked nothing.

A likely story ;) I think opium comes from some class of poppy? I assume it's not the same as the one that grows here.

Havoc is correct, it's not weed, it's opium related drugs which allegedly show positive in a drug test as a result of eating poppy seeds. His in-depth drug expertise is undoubtedly a result of his affinity with the road cycling community.

I suspect this is an urban myth. Mythbusters did a show on this very topic however I don't know the conclusion of their 'experiments' because Mythbusters is shit and I don't watch it.

Poppy seed bagels can be procured in Eurospar, warm and fresh from the oven every morning. Delightful.

    Additional:
These are referred to within the baking community as 'Kaisers' which is a name I enjoy almost as much as the food itself, as it appeals to my own imperial propensities.

€3.69 for 4 poppy seed bagels + 50% extra free in the freezer section in Eurospar.
