Phone calls dropping consistently

My girlfriend has a Desire S, with CyanogenMod 7.1 latest stable. I've a Desire with CM7 as well. Any time she rings me, after a minute or two, the phone freezes and we get disconnected. On her side, it goes quiet. On my side I hear noise, as if the audio is paused and gets hung.
We both have to hang up and call again.

    Both on Meteor.

Can anyone shed some light on this issue for me? I have tried updating the radio to the newest one for Desire S but the problems still there.

    Thanks.

Which phone freezes? Yours? Does it happen if the call is from a land line or another device?

check and see if you have auto mode selected in the mobile network settings. if so change it to GSM only and it should sort it out

Sorry I think my wording was wrong. Neither phone locks up or anything, but the call itself "freezes" as if the audio is paused. If shes mid sentence, whatever syllable shes on will keep playing as if its stuck.

    Where is that in settings?

Interesting, have either of you downloaded any app that might be using the in call mode or in call audio stream?
