I want a good general purpose scanner/receiver and was thinking about the iCom IC-R20. I'm interested in Aircraft radio but I'd like to dip my toe in the water as I've always been an interested but not at all active radio enthusiast. I'd like something that will grow as my interest grows. Would you recommend this set?

    Thanks!

I had it for about 3 years.
    Nice little device.
You can use original antenna or plug cable with another one.
    Full bands ..... is great.
    A lot of options.
This is ICOM - good RX! In my opinion of course.
Portable ... you can have in your pocket.
I had it once on the airplane flying abroad. I was listen pilot all the way.
    New one is quite expensive.
But you can get used one from 200EUR up to 250.
    Don`t pay more ;)
    Good Luck!

I prefer the icom r-5 , much smaller. A great radio.
