P35 question

    Hi guys,
I filed my P35 last night on ROS, and owe an amount to Revenue. I didn't pay it last night (just filed the return). Anyone know if I have to pay the amount by today (15 Feb deadline), or do I have a period of time to pay it? I read something about Feb 23rd if you file online?
    Any advice appreciated...

The extended date applies where you both file AND pay online. Since you filed online by 15th your return is on time anyway. If you also pay online by 23rd then your payment will be on time. Technically, if you now pay manually though, your payment will be late (but the return was still on time).

    Hi

The balance on the P35 is due now and technically interest will run on the overdue amount until it is paid. But the return itself is filed on time so there would be no penalties.

The date of 23 February is only if you pay and file the return via ROS.

    Kind Regards

    The above is incorrect.

Spr1ngsteen has submitted his P35 via ROS. If he submits the required payment by electronic means (e.g. via ROS or by EFT) on or before 23 February, both the return and the payment will have been submitted on time and no late filing penalties or interest should arise.

In order to avail of the extended filing deadline, it is not necessary for the return and payment to be submitted simultaneously or for the payment to be submitted via ROS (the payment just has to be submitted by electronic means).

    Hi

You are right. If you pay it online via ros as you said by 23rd Feb there are no interest or penalties.

    Kind regards
