It would appear the entire region is on the edge, lets hope it can all be scaled down with assads announcment of constitutional vote february 26th,

The constitutional vote is meaningless and a standard diversion tactic.

Also, title is alarmist and false.

Well it is a democratic departure from what has gone to date, if it calms all sides involved it is a victory for all people.

Yes it would make a departure from the state killing it's own people to extend one family's four decade long rule.

Unfortunately its a tad late, there's a virtual civil war going on, and nobody trusts the state not to rig any such vote.

As I said, its a stalling tactic.

so the saudis, an ultra conservative religious dictatorship propped up with state of the art US weaponary who have put down uprisings in neighbouring countries are now riding to the rescue of the syrian people. It's a funny old world.

Syria is in dire need of some humanitarian bombing.

I have read the links in question and I do not see the link between the thread title and the links. The news articles do demonstrate that there are issues with regard to Syria and that neighbouring countries are concerned but how that translates into "external military conflict in Syria hours away" puzzles me.

Perhaps the OP or someone else could explain the link between the thread title and the articles as there is insufficient information in the OP for me to understand it.

    THIS IS NOT A NEWSDUMP.

OP, I refer to you the charter, specifically:

If your OP consists of nothing more than a two-line thought that just popped into your head, don't start a thread. Again, that will be treated as trolling - the thread will be deleted, and you'll be banned or infracted, depending on how egregious the example is.

This forum is not a newsdump, blog or somewhere to post copy & pastes from other sites. All OP's and posts require some input of your own.

    Closed.
