I have a quantitative assessment with this company next week in Dublin. From what I've been able to find out on-line their hiring policy seems to be ridiculously strict. As in they'll only take you in for an interview if you've got excellent academic results but that they then reject the vast majority of these applicants so as to find the complete outliers.

Here's what someone said about their California branch:
They ask difficult questions, I think they're looking for those freak genius types that can answer any brainteaser on the spot - only hire Caltech/Harvard/BYU people from what I can tell.

Has anyone been to one of their interviews or assessments? Can anyone confirm my suspicions?

Here's an example of a question they asked someone in a telephone interview for example:
Let's say I have 50 coins in my hand, that add up to a dollar. One falls out. What is the chance that it is a penny?

I'm wondering is it worth my while going for this as I'd have to head up to Dublin for it and to be honest I know that although I'm intelligent, I'm not the sort of elite IQ type that they seem to be looking for according to those stories.

    Hi,

I was wondering if you attended the assessment after all? If so, could you give me any information on it? What was the rest of the process like?

Are they interested in Leaving Cert points, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year degree results?!

Like you, I'm from a quantitative background but not the IQ freak you mentioned in your post!

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi,

Just wondering if either of you attended the assesment. I have one next week and would like to get some info if possible?

Sorry I didn't see either of these until now.

If you've got an assessment then everything else is immaterial. Your CV will get you in the door. After that it's largely irrelevant. It's all about IQ, logical ability and personality from then on.

First round is an IQ test. 50% of applicants get through.

Second Round is a face to face with traders and IT people in Dublin. Lot's of logic problems and a bit of a grilling about your intentions and motivations.

Third round is usually a full day of interviews in London although there may be a second interview in Dublin before that.

Final Round is an interview in New York with the head people.
