    Calling sligo runners,

I'm workin in sligo a few days a week for the foreseeable future so does anyone have any 8k-10m loop routes. Will check out the running track in the IT but are there any parks, green areas with trails? mapmyrun keeps freezing on me!

On the east side of the city there is Hazelwood to the north of the river & also to the south of the river there are nice trails (riverside I think its called).

    Assuming you have a car:

Union Wood: Old Dublin Road, turn off at Carraroe and take Ballygawley Rd.

    Rosses Pt:
Park at start of prom and run to end of 2nd Beach and back, about 4m (view in OSM layer) http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5299942

Alternatively you are stuck in town you could run 1m laps of the racecourse on the grass or this route provided the riverside isn't flooded.

Start around Doorly Park - Keep by the river on your left and it brings you up at Tonaphubble (Holywell Rd), then take the next right to come back around by racecourse/sports complex on your way back (can be made longer distancewise if leaving from town).

Slishwood is my favorite trail run when down home. Roughly 2 1/2 mile loop with one pretty nice climb. Garmin Link
Or as mentioned by Gringo78 Hazelwood is good too and closer to town than Slish. Garmin Link

thanks for the replies. ended up goin to sligo IT on the gravel track around the gaa pitch. bit too repetitive though for long repeats so will check out the racecourse as well. theres a fine set up in the IT in general.
