    Hi all.

    I'm wanting to place labels OUTSIDE of polygons that are too small. I have of course Googled this but the ESRI instructions don't seem to work.

    Firstly, I cannot find the "May place label outside polygon" check box.

    Secondly, in the Label Manager dialogue box, the layer is checked, as is "default", but there are no available "label classes" to select - the polygons are simple numbered areas without a need for classification.

    So do I really need to try and figure out some mad nonsensical expression just to put labels in a sensible place or am I going to have to just create a text label for each of my areas?
