    I'm so tempted.
Was looking at getting a decent cheapo tablet. Anyone know how this compares to the other 100 euro Chinese tablets in the other recent BA threads.
At least this one is a solid manufacturer.
Always thought the Flyer was overpriced for a 7" tab but at 200 euro odd it might be worth it.
    Opinions?
What ebook formats can it handle.

    Thanks OP btw.

Cheap chinese tablets won't compare to this in terms of quality... it's tempting.. but I'll hold out and get myself a kindle fire... :P

I think the specs of kindle fire are on par with the hundred euro Chinese tablets

If given a choice, I would certainly buy the HTC tablet from Amazon, purely because of their superb customer service when the things go wrong.

Amazon pricing is for Expansys through marketplace - doesn't look like Amazon selling it direct. I would be same as yourself and prefer to buy via Amazon if pricing is close.

Didn't know the cheap chinese 800mhz tablets were on par with a dual core 1ghz?

I would hope so. A tablet without wifi wouldn't be much use.

How would an ainol aurora compare to the htc flyer :/

i would say they are pretty much the same in terms of hardware

(older but most likely bugless android with flyer, newer ics with some glitches with ainol, stylus with flyer, hdmi port with ainol, possibly better screen with ainol, possibly better camera in flyer etc.)

the only actual significant difference for user would be price & build quality

IMO ainol is good choice for the price and so is flyer

plus, tablet market develops extremely quick, so both will be completely obsolete in a year or two anyway ;)

Picked this up for my dad in the states for $219. You'd be crazy not to get one. IT's far superior to any other tablet in the price range. I even like it more than my transformer. HTC did a great job with sense on it!!

It's an amazing size, and far superior to the fire in terms of build quality, video, skype etc.

Best tablet hardware I've ever used. Software is amazing as well.

Not expected to ship until the 23rd of May, by then an extra €50 could get you a far superior tablet.

    Thanks,

I got one when amazon had them on sale last month... really impressed, recently updated itself to gingerbread -haven't tried any custom roms just get because of lack of time...

but as a tablet its more than worth the money they are selling for

Don't forget to order through fatcheese to get 6% cashback. Should be enough to cover the postage.

  • Registered Users Posts: 423 ✭✭shot2go

ive never bought from this site before, do they take laser for both the deal and postage?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,026 ✭✭✭Amalgam

As far as I can tell, the one downside of the Flyer is that it cannot handle 1080P and similar.. unlike the 'Chinese cheapies', bundled with the Mali400 GPU etc..

Lovely device though. Great price, hopefully bundled with the pen too.
