Guys i would love to hear some feedback - i know in general only people who complains are around forums (like me) so honestly - anyone who can share the info here/.?

i would like to know about speeds and peak time service - what is the highest speed possible and is it ok to use 2 devices at the same time?

I dont wanna keep it for 12 months and be on 0.4mb/s

thanks a lot in advance -

i have no option to get a proper broadband service to my house so thats the reason i am looking for this. 60gb cap at 30e isnt bad at all. ---> i checked - the coverage is perfect in my place but you never know.

    thanks

The highest speed possible is whatever the network quotes you. This isn't what you want though, as you'd be more interested in what you actually get. This isn't something anyone else can tell you, you have to check it out for your self.

Signal and cover do not equate to speed.

Any sort of multi-tasking gets shafted on 3g connections from my experience... having an xbox/laptop/phone on the one connection reaaaalllly slows it down but just one device is grand

but yeah try it out in your area and see how it goes... only way

got it in the morning :)

    on 12month contract 60gb 30e

so at 1pm i was on 75ms ping 5,6down 1,3 up and betweeen 6pm - 10pm i am on 4,6down 1,1up 87ms ---> i hope it stays like that. the upload beats any eircom package big time and the 30e price is simply unbeatable at this stage for me.

so i am only hoping it will hold the speeds. + the wifi range is pure. :(

anyway i will report speeds later on. first day always impress...

Is the wifi range really bad with this thing? Was hoping to leave it upstairs in back bedroom so as to get best signal strength but would be using devices mostly downstairs. Downstairs signal = rubbish!

its not the best honestly.. ok lets say its a bit weak.

but its a small device,,, what confuse me is this---> first 2 weeks (when you can give it back) the mifi was at all the time sitting on 4mg/s min up to 9mb/s 2 weeks later i am on 0.02mbs most of the day. on the same place without even moving it. anyone tell e why/?

its sux big time. in the morninng sometimes i get 1,5mbs but later around 11am i am loosing it. and going back to 0.5mbs if lucky...usually 0.02

That's not great alright. That's the little egg shaped one is it? They have a box shaped one now and one like a router, I wonder are they any better?

That is the nature of a 3G network. There is likely nothing you can do about this. Mobile Internet should not be used in a fixed location or as a replacement for proper broadband. It's not intended for, nor suited to, this use.

Do 3 or Meteor have a 7 or 15 day cooling off period or something so if the thing is rubbish I can send it back?

14 days, be prepared to escalate very quickly to a formal complaint though.

The wifi range is really rubbish on this unit but its 3g performance is fine. This means your laptop or whatever really should be in the room where the MiFi is placed.

If you cannot work with that limitation don't buy it. Get a proper wifi unit like the Dovado in the sticky above.
