I have a Bushnell legend on my 308, they will do the job fine and take plenty of abuse.
Mine has been dropped, bending the eye piece down, I had to re-zero but the while thing works perfectly without a bother
the only time they let you down is the last 10 -25 minutes before dark....higher end scopes continue to allow you to see whereas most Bushnells wont

Elite 3200 is not in production any more and it is replaced with Elite (no number) series. Mechanically speaking the 3200 were very robust and could take serious recoil without loosing zero. The main problem they had was that only couple of lens surfaces got multilayer coatings and others not (they were not fully multicoated). Because of this they had poor light transmission rate and were not the best choice for dusk or dawn.

Go with former 4200 series or new Elite scope and you will not regret it.

For the Elite 3200 budget look also at Nikon Monarch 3 and Vortex Viper HS scopes. They are both better in low light and can take similar level of abuse.

Hi Rummy and welcome to the nut house.

A good choice of scope. I have 5 Bushnell scope (my son has another).

What I'll first say is that most people over-scope their rifles and we are told to pay far too much for the shooting we do. Read some of the reviews on the US web sites, Cabelas Midway etc, to see what they use on their big guns.

I have the 6-24x50 4200 elite tactical on both my 223 and 308 and find them VERY good. They can be had second hand in the UK for under £400
My son has used both a Banner 4-12x40 and 3200 elite 4-12x40 on his 223.

I have a Banner 6-18x50 'dusk n dawn' on my 10/22 and find the view very good and think that it would do for your 308 as well, and can be got for €199.
