For legal reasons I need a paternity test doing. I'm pursuing maintenance from my babys father,in order to delay maintenance he has requested the test. I've agreed to it. Just wondering how much they are? Any recommendations as to where to go? GP?
    Thanks.

Court admissiable paternity tests here http://www.oqps.ie/court_admissible_dna_test.htm

Expensive, which I suppose is not an issue if he will cover the cost of the test he requested. Quick turnaround as well, which can only be good!

Not as expensive, but not as comprehensive a service either.

I think Treoir have good info as well. :)

If he is the one disputing paternity and requesting a test, then he is the one who has to cover the cost of it.

    Let him know that.

No offense OP I'm not referring to your case but I am curious does he have any way of getting the money he spends on a dna test back if it turns out that he is not the father. Can he sue for it?

    Thanks for the replies.
As I discovered yesterday, its a game of delaying tactics. His Barrister wanted me to cover the paternity test fee, even though he was the one to request it. I point blank refused to pay, the barrister was totally unprepared for my answer, as she probably felt I'd either accept the fee or back out of the case. The Judge sided with me, so we came to an agreement where he'll pay for his test and I'll pay for the baby.

I stipulated that on a positive result the Father would refund my half back.

To the last poster , Im not sure who'd have to refund who, if the result was negative.

In theory yes. In practice, even if a court directs that the woman pays, it's rarely enforced.
