I know it will depend ultimately on the product, are either of these typically better value? cheers

Neither woukd strike me as having particularly good value to be honest. If you are looking for something specific, then shop around and widen your search to include the online retailers too.

no , always found that Harvey Norman , Pc World Currys and a couple of other places shops like them tend to have the same spec machines at similiar prices and better value can be got on better machines in other places, and online ( Not to sure about peats rarely be in it)

Cheers for the advice guys. I'm not after anything fancy. will just be used for web, music, watching movies, skype etc. Would anyone care to recommend either an alternative retailer (online or not), that may represent better value. Or better again, a particular model.
    Once again, thanks in advance
