To be honest, I'd go join Leinster before its too late.

Munster are a bit of a dead end, don't have any Centers, or Props.

They never give young lads a shot.

If you are any good, they will play you in the Center, no matter what position you play in.

    Ir

Not even vaguely helpful. Stick to the question the OP asked.

OP would you be confident of getting a trial for the Munster schools?

OP, don't take this the wrong way but listen to your parents and your coaches. Good luck either way.

what position do you play?...the gap is closing in standards ,between the schools and clubs,as a matter of fact i think the backs coming from the clubs are better, more creative

It's a tricky one and your question is a bit vague.

When I was in school in Leinster there was the Schools team, the A Schools team, and the Youths team.

The Youths team was made up of players who didn't play in schools but in clubs instead.
The A Schools team was made up of players from the A division schools, these were the weaker section schools.
The Schools team was made up players from the then B division which was the strong or the main schools cup i.e. Blackrock, Clongowes etc.

My experience was with the A Schools and we would have been selected by our coaches and then sent off to the trials. Back then the information went from the A Schools coaches to the individual schools coach and then on to the player. So if you were asked back it was by your own schools coach.

As an A School player I could only have gone to the A Schools team. I was not eligible for the full Schools team and I didn't play with a club so couldn't go to the Youths either.

Your best bet is to ask your school coach and see what they think. If the cadets are just for club players you may not be eligible for them. If your coaches knows he can help advise you better than anyone on here can.

    Best of luck either way.

there is those 3 teams in Munster as well

The Youths team was made up of players who didn't play in schools but in clubs instead.
In Munster the youths is made up of players from nenagh, kilfeacle, shannon, highfield, tralee etc who dont play rugby in 1 of the 8 A schools: Rockwell, CBC Cork, PBC Cork, Ard Scoil Ris, Crescent Comp, Castletroy, Glenstal and St Munchins
The A Schools team was made up of players from the A division schools, these were the weaker section schools.
The A schools team is made up of the 7 B schools like Bandon Grammer, Midleton College and some youths players
The Schools team was made up players from the then B division which was the strong or the main schools cup i.e. Blackrock, Clongowes etc.

Not entirely sure how A Schools and Schools sides are initially picked but the coaches look to the Bowen Shield u17 league and how stood out from the junior cup.
A schools can pick players from the youths system as some players who were close enough but didnt make last septembers munster youths went on to play with the A schools team

As an A School player I could only have gone to the A Schools team. I was not eligible for the full Schools team and I didn't play with a club so couldn't go to the Youths either.
Nowadays players from the B schools can go onto play on the main schools team if good enough and there is a small few every year

I was on the cadets the first year it was set up and it only involved youths players, there was no schools players involved. that was over 5 years ago so things could be quite different now
    Best of luck either way.
OP Think Cats post and my comments in red should answer any of your questions

last years A schools were a very good side and gave the munster youths side a bit of a hammering in a trial match
