They still sold Petrol cars in 2010? Don't remember seeing any.........................

I think that's probably the reason no one has come back, I'd say a non diesel Octy would be a rare sight since 2009.

There are plenty of threads on Octavia's which will give you the general gist of them (there may be a mention of the boot size in one or two of them), and there was a recent thread about the A4 1.8Tfsi, which is essentially the same engine. I did a quick check on some of the 120ps 1.8Tfsi's that we had and non were showing any issues.

Thanks ROR. They only do the 1.8tsi Octy in the UK.

Suppose I should have said that in me opening thread :)

Nope - was on my 2010 price list from my Skoda dealer.

    Model CO2 RRP
    Octavia Ambiente 1.8TSI DSG 160HP 155 23,455
    Octavia Ambiente 1.8TSI 160HP 158 22,500
    Octavia Elegance 1.8TSI DSG 160HP 155 24,880
    Octavia Elegance 1.8TSI 160HP 158 24,000
    Octavia L&K 1.8TSI DSG 160HP 155 28,760
    Octavia L&K 1.8TSI 160HP 158 28,445

The Tsi 160 models were actually cheaper than the comparable 2.0Tdi 140 versions.

    mmmmmm, right.

Even with the above, there seem to be feck all 1.8TSI models for sale in Ireland

I'd say you have a better chance of finding an honest politician in this country than a 1.8 TSi Octavia. :)

There is only one on carzone and that's a 08 160bhp version, decent spec but still crazy asking price considering you would be married to it:

Was just checking the VRT there for a 2011 1.8 tsi Octavia

The rate is 24% for the manual
The rate is 20% for the automatic

    Surprising............
