Maybe some of AGS here can enlighten me.

Recently at a fire, a garda asked my name as the OiC, which is normal, as has been the case for years, but then he also asked for my DoB, which I've never been asked for before. I don't really have a problem with it, but what relevance is it? Has there been a change of policy recently?

    Cheers

Well if there are two "Patrick Murphys" living in Ballysometown then it'd be easier to identify which one he was talking to.

Thanks for that, as i'd said in OP it was just something I hadn't experienced in over 10 yrs on the job and wondered if something had changed.

To prevent duplicate identities on the system. The power to demand d.o.b. has been added to the road traffic acts as well.

The Ban has been dropped in a Gender Neutral force now. Its just Garda.

How do ya decide which way to swing the asp if you are supposed to be gender neutral? Will the Garda Siochalonis die out as a species if they are gender neutral? Must create huge problems for the nurses in coppers if all the AGS members are "gender neutral"
