Can anyone help transfer songs from itouch to itunes?

Stupidly I deleted all my music from my laptops music folder: I was doing a spring clean and wrongly thought that all the music was duplicated stored in itunes itself.

Anyway I have all my music on my ipod touch I need now to reverse sync this music back to my itunes.

I know that the solution is to transfer from my itouch>my laptop>my itunes library.
The problem I have is that my computer is not recognising my itouch; it is however showing up in the itunes programme, but not under my computer.

Does anyone know how I should proceed.

    Thanks TKE.

Try with Sharepod not sure if you can specify the Itunes folder to save but you can save to desktop and after drag-drop to itunes.

I plan to use sharepod to transfer from the laptop to itunes, however my initial problem is my itouch is not being recognised as a devise under the computer tab; it is recognised in the itunes programme, but I think that for sharepod to do its thing I will need to access my itouch outside of the itunes programme.

    Any idea why?.

Yes correct, you need to close Itunes to be able to open Sharepod, if I tunes is open you will get a warning to close Itunes to continue. Maybe restart PC and try again.
