Warm weather locations and accomodation

While I'm about as far from an elite athlete as one can be, I kind of fancy spending a week somewhere warm that would be good for running. I was thinking of some place like Lanzarote, the Canary Islands etc.

Just wondering if anyone has recommendations for locations and possible accomodation. I normally book hotels when I travel and I wouldn't rule one out, but I was also thinking about some sort of apartment instead. I'd want a place to myself most likely, I lost interest in sharing after spending weeks in hostels when travelling in Oz and NZ!

    Cheers!

Currently have 2 seperate weeks booked for warm weather training in March. The first is Torrevieja - miles of trails around the salt lakes along with accessible track

The second is Monte Gordo in Portugal Access again miles of trails in wooded area, access to track and gym, personal gym and exercise room (for stretching/core/yoga) in the hotel also and is a very popular destination among athletes. In past years I have struggle to chase down Alminova (2009 Euro Indoor Champ) have had people in our group get javelin tips from natalya dobrynska and last year was near enough to travel to the World XC
