this might be better suited to the Video Forum but i'll see how it goes here first...

so i shot a short film on my 550d last week with a 50mm f1.8 lens. the last few scenes i shot on the day turned out to be super grainy and now i need to re-shoot them. problem is i dont know why the quality changed, i suspect the ISO was somehow adjusted but i cant be 100% certain.

what i need to know is, is there anyway to check what settings a video was shot with??? the details tab in the properties window isnt giving me anything useful....

    thanks!!!

If you download Adobe Lightroom 4 Beta from the Adobe website (free until 31 March), then import the raw .MOV file, you can see the camera settings used in the histogram window to the right when you select the video.

Edit: except, unfortunately, the ISO setting which doesn't seem to be available :-( I think the Canon adjusts this dynamically while shooting to maintain decent exposure, so it may have just been that the scenes were darker than you remember?

Canon Digital Photo Professional, the software you got with the camera should also inform you of the shooting settings.
