PXE-MOF problem

    Hi folks'
    having problem with my Emachines 627,at times when I leave it & it goes into sleep I get it turning off only to show a black screen saying
    "check cable connection
    PXE-MOF:Exiting Intel PEX ROM
    No Bootable device--insert bootable disc & press any key"

    I'm running win 7 but didn't get disc with computer,for second time tonight I had to /laptop went into system repair/system restore

    Have checked boot up
    #1:IDED
    #2:IDED1
    #3:blank
    #4:net boot etc..
    Any ideas/help much appreciated

    Have you checked inside the case to make sure that the hard drive is still connected. Looks like the BIOS isn't picking it up as it should have the name of the drives instead of just IDE1
