Neighbourhood Talks is a collaborative and socially engaging artistic project created by artist Rebecca O'Hare, members of the University of Limerick's Student Union, UL students and local residents (both professional and student) who reside in the surrounding housing estates of Elm Park, Oaklawns and The Orchard.

Initially, through the medium of dialogue, the above voluntary group are actively meeting in familiar spaces and working together to source, create and enact new models of living within their community. For many years, behaviour deemed anti-social has negatively impacted parts of the local and surrounding community and now, local members, acting as social beings and 'insurgent architects of change' are using this opportunity to build up positive neighbourhood relationships with each other, within their local housing estate and also between UL.

The above project has been in existence since March 2011 and will continue into the 2012 / 2013 academic year. Now, Neighbourhood Talks is seeking to rent one room (large room pref) in Elm Park, so that suggested artistic / dialogical projects can take place in the affected area. The room is required initially for the months of March, April and May, however it may be extended into the summer months.

Full rent will be paid for the room plus a contribution towards utilities etc, however events / projects / research will only take place in said room 2 - 3 days a week making Neighbourhood Talks the perfect housemate.

If you have a room available or know of a suitable one, please PM or email neighbourhoodtalks@gmail.com

Those interested in hearing more about the project should also email neighbourhoodtalks@gmail.com however alternative information can be sourced by following @NeighbourTalks and through the Facebook page Neighbourhood Talks.

    Thank You
