I'm surprised there is no thread on this already so here goes....

All in all, I must say I'm pretty disappointed with the style from some of our normally fashion forward Irish celebs...

Roz Purcell....dress looks cheap and cut isn't flattering IMO
    613x459.jpg?fit=scale&background=000000

The normally amazing Amy Huberman disappointed me this time out...I feel her dress would look more appropriate on Meryl Streep or Helen Mirren...
    613x459.jpg?fit=scale&background=000000

    Diana Bunci... Love it
    E163D8D67873-28.jpg

Dawn Porter... I like this, it's simple and elegant... not a fan of her full fringe though. I think it's a little heavy for her face since she's so petite.
    613x459.jpg?fit=scale&background=000000

Maria Doyle Kennedy... Oh sweet baby Jesus

    613x459.jpg?fit=scale&background=000000

Aobhinn Garrihy from Fair City... I love the dress, I wish her hair wasn't so high at the back, but otherwise she's a hit
    613x459.jpg?fit=scale&background=000000

    Charlene McKenna... just no

    613x459.jpg?fit=scale&background=000000

Jackie Lavin... usual... mutton, lamb.... etc
    613x459.jpg?fit=scale&background=000000

Sonya Lennon... presents Off The Rails???? Seriously???
    613x459.jpg?fit=scale&background=000000

Kathryn Thomas... I love the neckline and lace detailing. I do wish she would wear her hair down more or at least not so severely pulled back...
    613x459.jpg?fit=scale&background=000000

So they're the ladies I felt deserved a mention... Independent website has some pics, not many. I must have a proper google for more :)

Kathryn could do with talking off a layer of the make up! Roz and Diana look like they're going to their debs.

Agree with what you said about Amy Huberman, definitely an older woman dress!

I think Charlene McKenna looks prety cool, the top of the dress is really flattering on her. However, she looks like she's pretty short, the long dress just emphasises that. A shorter hemline would have been better.

Sonya is a disaster, as always :pac: That sounds mean, but god she's had some awful creations!

Agree with all your comments OP (actually freakishly so!)
Amy huberman looks terrible, her makeup looks pale and oily, the dress is shocking (hate the fabric)..frumpy gone wrong!

Sonya lennon...what an idiot. Never liked her on the off the rails show. Dont like her now either.

I do like Maria Doyle Kennedy but dress has about 10metres too much fabric.

Sweet baby jesus have we no fashion sense at all??

Twee: Totally agree about Kathryn Thomas... her make up is much too heavy. She is naturally very pretty, and has good skin so doesn't need to be overly made up.

Found some more pics...I'm totally obsessed with awards season fashion!! :o

Abbi Ochas: I like the dress, but the shoes... nah I think she should have gone for something with a bit more wow, they look a bit like wedges I'd wear to the beach or something

    00058b25-372.jpg

Jackie and Bill...I know she featured in my OP, but she looks so plastic she deserves another mention. Oh and Bill, hand out of your pocket

    00058b29-372.jpg

Laura Whitmore & Danny O'Reilly: I think the colour of her dress is beautiful, I wish the top was a little more structured. She has a fab figure, it'd be nice to see a bit more. Love that her hair and make up and so simple....

    00058b2f-372.jpg

Aoife Duffin: shapeless, unflattering dress and those shoes

    00058b28-372.jpg

Charlene McKenna again... I prefer this photo...dress looks much nicer.

    00058b2b-372.jpg

Lisa Fitzpatrick: I love how floaty her dress is... wish she'd take off the hideous bolero so we could see the neckline on the dress.

    00058b31-372.jpg

Olivia Treacy...is it mean to say there's a little Bet Lynch/Lily Savage about this photo? Great body for her age though....

    00058b35-372.jpg

    Aoibheann McCaul.....emmmm soooooo shiny

    00058b41-372.jpg

    Denise McCormack...glowing

    00058b78-372.jpg

    Bressie... mmmmmmmmmmmmm :p

Tbh, the men look better than the women

Well, with the notable exception of Lisa Fitzpatrick (whoever she is?) and the pregnant lady whose name escapes me. Fitzpatrick's dress is wonderfully simple, while the other navy dress is a lovely cut and fabric.

    As for the rest....meh!

This gent would be well advised to visit a tailor. There is significant pull at the button closure meaning the waist measurement is too small. The shoulders are over-padded and not suited to him at all leading to two sets of dimples, one at the mid-point of the shoulder-line and another on the arm below the shoulder-edge. Button stance is too high showing a very messy expanse of shirt below the button poiny.

Trousers are cut too long leaving a wrinkles and creases about the shins and ankles. The seat measurement of the trousers appears to be too small giving the unsightly creases across the crotch area.

His tie knot doesn't cover the top button of his shirt.

It may be the lighting/photography but he could be wearing an odd suit jacket and trousers, as they don't appear to match in tone.

Everybody looks terrible! And did Chris O'Dowd borrow that jacket from his little brother or something? It looks far too small on him.

Her dress is down as one of the worst by far for me!

I really likes Kathryn Thomas' dress but her make up was far too heavy and her hair far too severe- down with some waves would have been far more flattering. I can't understand though why it is that Irish celebs get it so wrong. I mean, they have great figures, aren't totally broke (mostly anyway) and yet they often look like they have either dressed in the dark or are going to their debs.

Can't be that hard to pick up a nice dress on this island! I definitely think more of them should be keeping it simple- think some of them are trying waaaay too hard.

And as for Sonya Lennon- seriously, HOW is she a stylist? She has to be taking the piss with the ensembles she throws together. Her fashion sense is horrific.
