Booking a stag party

I'm in the process of booking a stag part for my best mate. We think that we want to go to enniskillen and take in some of the outdoor adventure centres that are in the locality.

My biggest problem is the accommodation. I know that everything else will run smoothly. How do people book accommodation for such an event? There are 2 places in Enniskillen that would be suitable for us. 1 is an old style hotel which is cheap and comfortable. I have stayed there before. Its adquate - clean, good food and big enough rooms. The other is a larger hotel which has loads of rooms. It also has a load of apartments. It has been recommended to me by a restaurant there when I was enquiring about food. It is very modern and well located with reasonable prices - so i guess that this would be my first choice location.

Is it a case of me just contacting one of these places and telling them that I want to book in 12 to 15 lads for a stag night - could they just turn around and tell me taht they don't take stags. Or should I call up and tell them that i'm booking for a conference/meeting/sporting event/team building etc

Anyone got advice for me - I'm new to this????

First of all, tell them wherever you end up, it's a golf outing. Not as many places are as bad with having stag partys any more as they are damn glad of the business. However it's just easier for everyone if you say it's a sporting outing and golfing is seen as the least rowdiest.;)
If you are taking in an activity then your time in the rooms will be minimal, showering and sleeping so as long as they are a decent standard then let the price decide. I've been to good hotels, bad hotels and apartments for stags and have enjoyed them all. Apts are generally cheaper but you have to sort out your own breakfast, which generally is a short stroll up to the parent hotel. Apartments are also better to have a few beers in before heading out (especially if the weather is ok) rather than buying round in the bar.
