New Groupset

I'm looking to get a new groupset for a Specialized Secteur, currently has the base Shimano 2300 on it. Not a great config if I'm honest, worked great at the beginning but the 2300 seems to be limited a bit, e.g. slipping gears under pressure.

Was looking at getting something more towards the mid range say around €500, maybe Shimano Tiagra, anyone got any favourites they'd recommend?

You can solve those issues with new cables or chain or cassette. All groupsets (even the most expensive) slip if they are not maintained.

But if you are going to a buy a groupset they are pretty cheap here.

Thanks, tempted by the 105 alright. I may order tonight :D

I do keep a good maintenance schedule, cleaned and serviced every two weeks. Use good quality lubes and grease, but the product itself just doesn't seem precise enough.

I've got Shimano deore xt's on my MTB and although it's a different animal they feel a lot precise and faster in the gear shift.

Just changed over to 105's myself. From the research I did I found it hard to justify the extra cost up to Ultegra. And have to say very happy with them. At the price above it seems like a good deal to me.
