    Good Morning,

I put a fiver on James McClean to score 1st against aresenal on staurday in a Ladbrokes shop in London. I was flying home early yesterday and went into a different ladbrokes to collect before the flight. The guy in the shop said there was a mistake and that they had marked it down as a loser but that he needed to ring the shop in question to get them to fix it and transfer the money to them. He rang the shop but there was no answer and as i was in a hurry couldnt wait around.

Never got paid, so now im back and have this docket. If i go into ladbrokes here will they be able to sort this out and pay or what do i do?

    Many Thanks

    To update the situation.

The office in london made a mistake and put the bet through as a loser and now they cannot even locate their copy. Rang customer service who told be to get the office here to scan the docket and send it through.

I then rang them back and they said the the dublin office would need to ring through with both dockets. A lot of time wasted here on my end. Now the dublin office have taken the docket and said they will follow it up and call me in an hour when its all sort. Ridicolous carry on

I would not have parted with the docket unless you were paid

Never part with a betting slip, regardless of who you know, as it could easily ''disappear''

They would be like puppets on a string controlled by the puppermasters in Head Office if anything went astray, you would soon find out they wouldnt be on your side or help you out if the situation arose.

And by the sounds of it, its all very amatuer and poor on their behalf, i collected from Paddy Powers in Ireland from a UK bet before with no trouble whatsoever. Ladbrokes just been awkward by the sounds of it.

Eventually got it sorted. The guys in the shop here was very helpful. The shop in England marked it as a loser and then some home misplaced the docket.

Alls well that ends well i suppose

Someone at a betting shop would steal a 5 quid docket?

And how do you know it was £5

Price of the slip makes absolutely no difference in this case

    But you obviously dont understand

So I'll give you a brief explanation, at no point did i state someone would ''steal it'' i said ''disappear'' that doesnt constitute stealing in any dictionary. The point was, it could easily disappear, be thrown out by accident, lost under the many other hundreds of dockets they take in a day etc, or someone could steal it, of course, thieves are everywhere, even in workplaces, doesn't matter if the docket is worth £10 or £100, you dont part with something that is worth money if you have no proof you gave it, maybe its something you do, thats your business, but to most people that would be seen as absolutely stupid, but everyone to their own.

So until you are up to speed on things dont comment as u will end up making yourself look stupid.
