Just a query. There are a lot of posts on here regarding Foregolf and Carton House fitting centres, but I was wondering has anyone tried the Mizuno DNA system. Mizuno's own website states that in approx. 15 minutes and after 3 swings their system can select the perfect shaft. Have any members on here availed of this system and more importantly could you tell me if you have seen any improvement as they seem to have this facility in a lot of places throughout the country. Thanks.

Have lost the link but go onto Mizuno website for GB&Irl and go to custom fitting and type in 100 miles radius of Dublin and number of places show up.

    Hi,
Got it done at the grange in Kinsealy, did a full custom fit there then asked to do the muzino DNA got the same results on the shaft. If you do it swing normal it is only 3 swings so make them good ones.

Yeah i went on the Mizuno Swing DNA thing. I thought it was cool. It says take 3 swings but i took about 5 and he put in the 3 i was happiest with.

Swing speed with a 6 iron was 86mph and it recommended True Temper Dynalite Gold XP S300, Project X 5.5 and KBS Tour Stiff. Having tried all 3 (and kinda hoping to prefer the KBS to be honest after all i read about it) i had to admit i prefered the stock Dynalite Gold XP.

I was really happy with it. It was a free fitting and i was confident i got the best shaft for my swing. I've had the clubs about 3 months now and am really happy with them.

As it turned out the stock off the shelf shaft suited me best but if i had bought them without getting fitted or if i didnt trust the swing DNA fitting i know on my bad days id always have been wondering what if, or questioning if the set-up was right for me. Now im hitting the ball better and am confident on my bad days thats its nothing to do with the clubs - unfortunately :D

Will they only test you on the machine with Mizuno heads and will they give you shaft/head combination spec if you dont buy the clubs off them?

Yeah you can only be tested with Mizuno heads as far as i know. I think only Mizuno heads will fit the shaft.

You can see the recommendations there on the screen so i suppose theres nothing to stop you not buying and then going away with the specs and buying somewhere else but in the place i went they didnt give me the fitting until i was buying the clubs, i suppose to stop people doing this. You couldn't just walk in and ask for a go on the swing DNA. If you were buying clubs there they put on the swing DNA as part of your fitting. Obviously if you were buying Pings or something they have their own fitting system they use so you wouldnt go on the Mizuno Swing DNA thing then.

It could be different in other places and i have heard of people who had a go on the swing DNA who didnt buy clubs but for me it was only part of the fitting after i had agreed to buy. I enquired about it before i agreed to buy but i was just shown it and explained how it worked but i wasnt offered a go on it.

To be honest, i was going to try get a go on it and then buy from golfstoreeurope or somewhere on-line but i couldnt get a go on the swing DNA and the clubs turned out to be about €50 cheaper then anyway in American Golf and i had the peace of mind of the fitting.
