Maintenance Grant - What happens if I find out I have grant this late in the year?

Hi, I'm studying in NUI Maynooth. I applied to Wicklow Co. Council for a grant. They recently sent back asking for more forms and proof etc which we supplied immediately (dropped them to the place). Does this mean that they will be in touch soon to let me know whether I have it?

And, if I do receive information in the coming weeks..

Do I have to wait until the third installment is out to actually get the money, or can I take the acceptance form the minute I get it and just bring it to the college and get backdated immediately.

I think they will probably give the first and second installment backdated. Ring Wicklow co co and ask. If they're unhelpful contact all of the councillors.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Oh ok. Thanks. Does the fact that they have contacted me mean they will be in touch shortly, or does it mean anything?

Does anyone else remember getting a grant from Wicklow CoCo, and how long the generally take? Been in touch with local councilor, kind of got the impression they just told me what I wanted to hear. The council themselves don't take calls pretty much ever when I'm actually available to call them (Mondays til 12, which I've now missed, and Thursdays)

    Hi there

Yes - they were good last year - Maybe send me a pm about which local councillor you were in touch with because some are better than others
