Driving a LGV with no Doe or tax -

    Hi, I'm looking at picking up a Vito 108cdi with no tax or Doe
    I can transfer insurance but dunno the story/rules on tax/doe

    anyone know the story?
    like is there a wavier of a day or two?

    I'm traveling a fair distance longford to cork with a mate
    and if its good i'll drive it from there to longford

    any advice would be appreciated!

    I've driven vans for 40 years, I've never been asked for a DOE cert, tax and insurance yes many times.
    If you're purchasing the van and have your insurance in order you should be ok a long as change of owner details have been sent to Shannon, and you tax it to cover the period when you were stopped and checked.
