Buying me first car looking like it may be between these two at the moment a
    Ford Fiesta 1.1
    or
    Rover 200 1.1

Which do you suggest ? Both are about the same price although the rover is a bit cheaper . Thanks :D

What years? Price? Mileage? NCT? Budget?

    1.1 Fiesta didn't go beyond Mark3 I thought, so that'd be pre 1995/1996 ish?

Yeah, that's what I thought...it would seem like a strange option to me, I thought the OP may have gotten confused being honest!

And the Rover 200 was rebadged the 25 back in 2000 so the OP must be looking at 1990s models of some sorts.

In which case it's all down to the condition of the two cars.

    Are these they only options?

Just my luck the rover was just sold :(
Was just looking at them on donedeal :/

anyways it was a rover 200 1999 1.1 700 euro nct till next year

    and two fiesta's
    Mk3 Fiesta 1. 1 1996
    650 quid
nct till march needs a new back box

    2001 Ford Fiesta
    750
    nct till next year

These arn' the nly options just some that caught my eye

The 2001 fiesta would be a 1.25 or a 1.3, both potentially far better propositions than a 1996 1.1 Fiesta needing a backbox with little NCT if they are tested for a while and straight enough.

This might be worth a look though 6 owners in 10 years would raise an eyebrow with me.

Probably a sold as seen too given the name of the company and the price.

    The 2001 fiesta is apparently a 1.1 litre :/

Man that is a sweet ass car but I'm only kinda looking at 1/1.1 litre cars you know cheap on insurance and tax :)

'01 Fiesta is either 1.25 Zetec or a 1.3 Endura.... More than likely its the Zetec.

What you guys think of this ? http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/2923691

The 1.25 is the one to go for in the Fiesta really, the 1.3 is slower, less powerful, much noiser, heavier on fuel, basically it is worse in every conceivable way.
