Anyone been married here or have any tips?

Went down yesterday for a look and found the place so impressive we went from "taking a cheeky look" to "sure we'll talk to the wedding co-ordinator" to taking a provisional provisional booking for next February!

Did you manage to negotiate anything additional to the package you opted for haron? Will be calling during the week to confirm our booking and would like to know if there's any extras I should be asking for!

no we got not nothing extra to what they offered but been honest we didn't try we were happy with what they offer.. no corkage fee free evenin menu for first 100 guests free chair covers plus they decorate the room for ya plus more cant think of them now. it all adds up to a nice saving

I know. I'm finding it hard to even think of something to ask for, but with all the advice to haggle for everything I'm feeling like I should push for something!

Hi - im getting married next year- absolutely love the Riverside and we are hoping to book our wedding there. Only one thing that is bugging me is the residence bar or lack of.... has anyone been at a wedding there, is it an issue for guests????

We spoke to the duty manager and it seems general policy is to not bother with a residents bar and simply leave the bar in the function room open until 3:30.

yea we spoke to duty manager and she said the same thing, we were just worried that that might be a bit early for some guests.

It was mentioned to us that it's not unusual for guests to still be in the function room at around 6am so we presumed it's just a "order a rake of stuff at 3:30 / bribe the night-porter scenario" ;)

Ive stayed there at a wedding. a hape of gargle at 3:30-ish is the answer. great spot.

edit: suggestion, early trip to the off licence

If you get on the right side of the night porters they'll keep the bar open for you (once they're in a good mood!). Was drinking away till 6am there at a wedding in July but have been at other weddings where they shut the bar straight away at closing time and won't even offer a residents bar. Keep them sweet and they'll look after you. Been at plenty of weddings there and you'll find it hard to meet someone who's been at a bad wedding there.

Got married there in 09. been to a half dozen weddings there. Cannot fault the place. Our own wedding lasted till 6 or 7. We brought the iPod station and had our own mini party with no hassle at all.

I heard there are very few dates left for this year and early next year.

We got the last Saturday available before April of 2013.

Obviously not had our day there yet but we've found the wedding co-ordinator excellent so far.
