Sorry if this question has been asked before.

I have a basic aerial on the house for RTE and BBC. I am intestested in installing two seperate systems for Saorview and also a Humax Foxsat for Freesat. I realise that it is impossible to get a combo that would have all the functions of the Humax.

My query - is it possible to have multiroom for both the systems above or would I have to get other equipment/receivers etc. I have need it in two rooms only and there is an existing connection for both there from the existing aerial. Just need to know in case whoever is installing it is giving me the full picture.

    Thanks

Saorview iDTV or STB at each TV point for the terrestrial channels.

For the satellite channels; a satellite receiver at each TV, satellite dish with quad LNB (4 outputs), two cable feeds to each satellite receiver from the LNB.

    Thanks for your reply.

I am a complete novice at this but those this means I would have to get 2 Humax Foxsat boxes then for the TV's in the kitchen and sitting room. I hope not!!!!

Yes, I think you would be best getting a satellite box (Freesat) for each room.

A Freesat box would cost approximately 60 - 90 Euro for SD, 100 -160 Euro for HD and 300-400 Euro for a Freesat HDR.

I have a good Humax HDR in the main room and would have a cheap Freesat SD box in the second room.

Good/trusting installer's from the Mullingar area

I agree with FRIENDO above if you don't require recording on the kitchen satellite receiver a single feed SD or HD freesat receiver will do.

Have a look at the range here - http://www.joinfreesat.co.uk/ (RH column)
