A monitor would be good too! :D

Why not just buy a cab instead?

/edit - ah, I see you mentioned a monitor at the start, silly me.

Just wanted to know this out of interest.

Yeah there's not much to it really. It's all just the jamma harness linking all the parts together. PCBs themselves more or less like games consoles, everything is included. So all the cab really needs to do is provide it with power and a screen.

So does the monitor hook up to the harness or the PCB? And can you use a PC monitor if you get a converter like this?

The Monitor, control panel, game pcb, & power supply are all linked via the jamma harness. Thats it really.

If you install a pc instead of a game pcb, just a JPAC to connect it to the jamma harness:

If you install a pc monitor, it hooks directly up to the pc by wither dvi/vga, whatever the monitor takes. You can connect the control panel buttons to an IPAC then, to interface them to the pc via PS2/USB [both options are available at the ordering stage afaik]. The IPAC, is basically a JPAC without the video circuitry

Thats basically it. You'll leave the safe world of hardware then, & enter the minefield that is, software :D
